Gina Carano, once pushed out of Disney’s “The Mandalorian” franchise, has reemerged in a major way—this time on a Netflix stage in New York City alongside former UFC champion Ronda Rousey. The appearance immediately reignited discussion around her Hollywood fallout, her legal battle with Disney, and her unexpected return to the spotlight in a high-profile combat sports event.
For many in the entertainment industry, Carano’s name was written off years ago. Disney and Lucasfilm parted ways with her in February 2021 after controversy erupted over her social media posts. The decision not only removed her from “The Mandalorian,” but also halted a planned Disney+ spin-off centered on her character.
