Current and former air traffic controllers are blasting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), arguing that politically driven hiring practices contributed to the deadly midair collision near Reagan National Airport. They claim that the FAA’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies, paired with a flawed accountability system, sacrificed safety, leading to the January 29 disaster.
According to Just the News, former controllers blame DEI hiring reforms introduced under the Obama administration for a less qualified workforce and persistent staffing shortages. Adding fuel to the fire, former President Donald Trump criticized these policies during a press conference addressing the crash.
