For years, the health establishment has pushed the idea that the only path to lower cholesterol runs through plant-based eating. Now they’ve latched onto a new trend – the Portfolio Diet – and are showering it with praise as if it’s the breakthrough Americans have been waiting for.

Medical influencers promise it can drop cholesterol numbers at rates similar to pharmaceutical treatments. But the glossy claims hide a massive issue the public isn’t being told.

A University-Backed Diet That Wants You Swapping Steak for Soy

The Portfolio Diet didn’t come out of nowhere. It was built by University of Toronto professor Dr. David J. A. Jenkins, who promotes a formula built around four plant-heavy food groups he says work together to reduce LDL cholesterol: fortified foods with plant sterols, oats and beans for soluble fiber, soy protein, and nuts.
