Entrepreneur and Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy laments the reaction of other Republican candidates to the ruling by the Colorado Supreme Court that removed former President Donald Trump from the primary ballot in 2024.
Trump was already disqualified from seeking the presidency in Colorado in 2024 by the Colorado Supreme Court, which held that his acts on January 6, 2021, rendered him unfit to run for office.

Ramaswamy told Maria Bartiromo on Fox News that he was disappointed with the GOP field. He talked about the circumstances and his firm stance on the decision. In the event that Trump is not permitted to run in the state, he even raised the prospect of taking his name off the ballot.
“It’s an unconstitutional and flagrant violation of the way we conduct elections in this country, Maria. This is not the way we do things in the United States of America. ‘We the people’ are the ones who select our leaders, not unelected cabals of Democrat judges and back offices,” he said.
According to NBC News, the Colorado Supreme Court’s decision-making was divided since Democrats nominated all of its judges.
With assurance, Ramaswamy stated his sensible reaction to the circumstance.
“The reason I made the statement I did, Maria, is very practical. If every Republican in the Colorado GOP primary also says ‘we’re not participating,’ then this blatant act of election interference has no impact.”
“So, I wanted to lead by example to say that if they are going to forcibly remove Trump’s name from that ballot, then I would voluntarily remove myself too, and called on Chris Christie and Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis to do the same thing.”
“I have to say, I was disappointed to hear radio silence or worse from those other candidates who said they wanted to collect their delegates,” Ramaswamy said.

In the GOP primary contest, Ramaswamy continues to have poor polling ratings despite his forceful comments in public settings.
Updated information from FiveThirtyEight shows the current Republican primary rankings. Notably, Trump continues to lead with 62.4% of the vote, while Ramaswamy has won 4% of the vote. With 11.7% and 10.8% support, respectively, other notable individuals like former UN ambassador Nikki Haley and governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) have decent standing.
