History has a strange way of repeating itself.

On January 3, 1990, Panamanian strongman Manuel Noriega surrendered to U.S. forces after hiding inside the Vatican embassy following Operation Just Cause. He was a drug-running dictator once protected by American intelligence before turning into a full-blown enemy of the United States.

Thirty-six years later, on January 3, 2026, another narco-dictator fell.

Early Saturday morning, President Donald Trump announced that U.S. forces had captured Venezuelan strongman Nicolás Maduro and flown him out of the country to face justice in the United States.

The timing was exact.
Same day. Same mission. Same outcome.

As Trump revealed,
“The United States of America has successfully carried out a large scale strike against Venezuela and its leader, President Nicolás Maduro, who has been, along with his wife, captured and flown out of the Country,” he posted on Truth Social after explosions rocked Caracas around 2 a.m. local time.
