Time’s List Takes an Unexpected Turn
Time Magazine just released its annual list of “The World’s Most Influential Rising Stars,” a feature usually dominated by progressive activists, Hollywood elites, and young Democrat politicians. But this year, something changed. Four prominent conservatives made the list — and one name in particular sent shockwaves across the media landscape: Erika Kirk, the widow of slain Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.
Time’s editors praised Erika Kirk for the grace and strength she displayed in the aftermath of her husband’s brutal assassination on September 10.
“Few would have faulted Erika Kirk if she had stood before tens of thousands at her husband’s memorial and demanded retribution,” Time wrote. “Instead, 11 days after Charlie Kirk was assassinated while speaking at a university, his 36-year-old widow offered something rare in today’s politics: forgiveness.”
