East Palestine Crisis: ‘Don’t Believe The Lies!

This month, President Joe Biden is expected to travel to East Palestine, Ohio, the scene of a train derailment that occurred a year ago. At the time, Biden came under fire for not going to witness the accident’s aftermath.

Biden has some positive news! After testing the water and soil close to the derailment site, a local environmental expert and a resident discovered that the accident’s effects were still evident. It hasn’t been possible to completely clean up, despite government claims.

Introducing Rick Tsai, a local resident who is resolving issues on his own. He is now a candidate for Congress because he was dissatisfied with how the government handled the incident.

“They’re either inept, or there’s something nefarious going on,” Tsai told NewsNation’s Rich McHugh.

“Anyone, even a 7-year-old with just a stick, can do this. It’s incredible how the EPA, despite spending millions of dollars, can’t detect the chemical contamination in our local streams. All it takes is shifting some dirt in the riverbed to reveal the truth.”

A year after toxic chemicals were spilled in a train accident, residents are still seeing “obvious” contamination, according to McHugh. He is pleading with the Environmental Protection Agency to act right now and stop applauding their efforts to contain the spill.

Through a series of unsettling stream bed photos shot over several months, McHugh reveals startling hidden chemicals in the water of East Palestine.

Despite being ordered to conduct testing and cleanup, Norfolk Southern, the freight railroad company accountable for a significant spill in February 2023, has not provided the EPA with any results. More than four months have passed since the incident.

The state’s EPA, meanwhile, refuted the existence of an ongoing issue.

ALERT! Major Water Restrictions In Effect!

“We don’t have any science that suggests there is contamination that would pose a human health risk,” Anne Vogel of the Ohio EPA told NewsNation. “We don’t have any sign of contamination in the air, in the water, in the soil.”

“They’re lying to you,” Tsai said of Vogel’s statement.

In their most recent testing, the environmental group Three Rivers Waterkeeper found fifteen harmful carcinogens. It is strongly recommended that people stay away from these substances altogether.

“These are non-natural, carcinogenic chemicals,” Heather Hulton Vantassel, the group’s executive director, told NewsNation. “We’re testing for the same things as the EPA and we’re finding really high levels.”

“It’s safe to say the EPA has not done enough testing yet to deem this community safe, based on the exposure that we found in the sediment,” she added.

The EPA’s assertion that there is no issue is refuted by recently unearthed footage that demonstrates ongoing chemical contamination in a stream bed. Only a few days before the spill’s first anniversary, McHugh and Tsai made this startling discovery.

Karine Jean-Pierre, a spokesman for the White House, declared that the president would pay the town a visit at a time when the town would benefit the most. Fox News reached out to Trent Conaway, the mayor of East Palestine, to get his opinion on the best time to do so.

“In my opinion, the best time for him to come would be February of 2025 when he is on his book tour,” Conaway said to Fox.

“The president is always welcome to our town,” he said, but “that being said, I don’t know what he would do here now.”

On February 22, 2023, former President Donald Trump and Ohio Senator J.D. Vance paid a noteworthy visit to the town, according to Fox.
