A flashy red Tesla parked at the White House is now caught in the crosshairs of a political and personal standoff between two of the most powerful names in America: Donald J. Trump and Elon Musk.
Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy dropped the revelation Friday morning on Fox & Friends—and it’s raising eyebrows across the political landscape.
“We’re told that that Tesla, the red Tesla with Florida tags, is either going to be given away or sold off,” Doocy reported, referring to the electric vehicle Trump famously picked out at a South Lawn event back in March.
That event—meant to symbolize Trump’s support for American innovation—has aged awkwardly, as Tesla’s stock has plunged and Musk’s public battle with Trump has boiled over into outright hostility. Teslas have even been targeted in firebomb attacks as tensions rise over Musk’s cost-cutting moves at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
