Donald Trump Jr. has made it clear he has no immediate plans to throw his hat into the political ring — at least not anytime soon. Speaking at the Qatar Economic Forum, he addressed questions about whether he might consider a political career once his father steps down from the presidency.
When asked about a possible future candidacy, Trump Jr. didn’t completely rule it out, saying, “I don’t know. Maybe one day … that calling is there.” This subtle statement leaves room for speculation, even as he insists the time isn’t now.
Yet, the eldest Trump son was explicit about his lack of interest in running for president in 2028. That year, Vice President J.D. Vance, whom Trump Jr. enthusiastically endorsed as a running mate, is widely expected to pursue the GOP nomination.
Trump Jr. posted on X, clarifying his stance: “And FWIW, I’ve always said, while I’ll never 100% rule it out down the line, I have ZERO interest in running for office in 28 or anytime soon.”
