The Deep State just got dealt a blow it wasn’t expecting. While Democrats celebrated Elon Musk’s departure from Washington, they overlooked one critical detail—the Department of Government Efficiency, known as DOGE, isn’t going anywhere. In fact, the operation may now be even more dangerous to entrenched bureaucrats than ever before.
Elon Musk officially stepped down from his temporary government position to return full-time to leading his businesses, like SpaceX and Tesla. But this wasn’t a retreat—it was a baton pass.
Though no longer an official member of the administration, Musk made it clear that his loyalty remains firmly with President Donald Trump, stating he will continue advising the 45th President as needed. Meanwhile, DOGE’s mission—exposing and eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse inside the bloated federal bureaucracy—will not slow down. If anything, it’s accelerating.
Democrats assumed Musk’s exit meant the end of the line for DOGE. They were dead wrong. DOGE operatives are still embedded across dozens of agencies, digging deep and disrupting the status quo. These aren’t figureheads—they’re trench-level appointees with a mission to trim the fat, and they’re just getting started.
