A Pennsylvania physician who devoted his career to saving critically ill children was killed in a brutal attack inside his own home — and the man accused of murdering him was already free on non-monetary bail in a separate felony burglary case.
Dr. Idris Evans, 46, died after authorities say an intruder entered his Edgewood home shortly after midnight Thursday and attacked Evans and his wife as they slept.
Their two children, just 8 and 12 years old, were inside the house when the violence erupted.
