DHS DESTROYS NYT’s Illegal Alien ‘Sob Story’!

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

The New York Times portrayed Blair as a man “rebuilding his life and seeking redemption” before U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested him earlier this year. But DHS officials weren’t having it.

“The New York Times conveniently glossed over that this illegal alien, Nascimento Blair is a convicted kidnapper and was sentenced to 15 years in prison. In 2008, he was issued a final order of removal. Because of the Biden administration’s open border policies, this criminal illegal alien was released onto the streets of New York,” said DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin in a blistering statement on X.

According to court documents, Blair pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including weapons violations and kidnapping. Authorities said Blair had held the teenage victim hostage inside an apartment and demanded a $5,000 ransom from the victim’s father. When police stormed the unit, they discovered firearms and large quantities of marijuana.

Blair admitted to the Times that he had “adopted a side hustle of dealing marijuana” and said he retaliated after the victim allegedly stole from him. “I got caught up selling weed and fell in love with the money,” Blair said. Despite his conviction, Blair insisted, “Somebody took something from me, and I wanted to get it back,” and claimed he never truly held the victim against his will.

Critics slammed the New York Times for attempting to tug at heartstrings while ignoring the terror inflicted on the victim and his family.

“Why does the New York Times continue to peddle sob stories about criminal illegal aliens and ignore their victims?” McLaughlin asked. She emphasized that under Trump’s leadership, the focus remains on “arresting and deporting the worst of the worst,” including “convicted kidnappers.”

Rather than highlighting the pain of Blair’s victims, the Times chose to portray a convicted felon as a tragic figure. It’s yet another example of the mainstream media downplaying serious crimes to push an open-borders agenda.

While the Biden administration continues to allow dangerous criminals to roam free, patriots are calling for a return to strong immigration enforcement — a return to law and order that prioritizes the safety of American citizens over the feelings of convicted criminals.
