A mother whose 18-year-old daughter was gunned down in Chicago is accusing Democratic lawmakers of treating grieving families with stunning disrespect while they testified before Congress about sanctuary-city policies.
Jessica Gorman lost her daughter, Sheridan Grace Gorman, in March. Sheridan was a freshman at Loyola University Chicago when she was fatally shot near Chicago’s lakefront. Jose Medina, a Venezuelan national who was in the United States illegally, has been charged with her murder.
Months after the killing, Jessica traveled to Capitol Hill to tell lawmakers what happened to her daughter.
