Jeffries, who has struggled to win over members of his own party, tried to push a false narrative, blaming Trump for inflation—despite the fact that Joe Biden’s reckless spending flooded the economy with trillions of dollars.
Jeffries’ Desperate Attempt to Blame Trump
Jeffries delivered an outlandish attack, claiming Trump had already failed to lower costs in America, despite only being in office for a month.
“Donald Trump and Republicans consistently promised that they were going to lower the high cost of living. And they’ve done the exact opposite. They’ve shown no interest in lowering costs in the United States of America, which are too high,” Jeffries stated.
His argument quickly fell apart.
“Housing costs are too high. Grocery costs are too high, childcare costs are too high, utility costs are too high. The cost of living is too high. In the United States of America. This country is too expensive. But they’ve broken their promise,” he added.
Karl Shuts Down Jeffries’ Spin
Even Karl, a known Trump critic, couldn’t let Jeffries’ statements go unchallenged. He pointed out that Trump’s poll numbers are actually stronger than they were during his first term.
“But Donald Trump’s favorability rating is actually higher than it ever was the first time around,” Karl noted.
Then Karl hit Jeffries with hard data. A Marquette University Law School poll showed that Trump’s executive actions—like recognizing only two sexes, deporting illegal immigrants, and expanding energy production—have overwhelming support from the American people.
“A recent poll by Marquette looked at several of the things that he has done or says that he is going to do. And 63 percent favor the federal government’s recognition of only two sexes. Sixty percent favor deporting immigrants who entered the United States illegally. Sixty percent favor expanding oil and gas production. Fifty-nine favor declaring an emergency at the southern border. Is there anything you are seeing that Trump is doing that you are in favor of? Do you think it is the right thing to do?” Karl asked.
Jeffries had no good answer.
Democrats Refuse to Face Reality
Despite clear evidence that Trump’s policies are resonating with voters, Jeffries refused to admit that securing the border and rejecting radical gender ideology are winning issues.
Instead, he doubled down on the same tired talking points, absurdly blaming Trump for inflation, even as prices continued to rise under Biden.

“We’re just at the beginning. And the core promise that Donald Trump made is that he’s going to lower costs for everyday Americans. In fact, we were told that grocery prices would go down on day one on January 20th. Costs aren’t lower. In fact, costs are increasing. The price of eggs is skyrocketing. Out of control. Inflation is on the way up,” Jeffries whined.
Voters see the truth. They know inflation skyrocketed under Biden, and they remember how Trump’s policies created a strong economy, low gas prices, and secure borders.
If Democrats think blaming Trump for Biden’s failures is a winning strategy, they are in for a rude awakening in 2024.
As Karl’s rare moment of honesty showed, even the liberal media can’t deny that Trump’s America First agenda is gaining momentum. And that’s bad news for the Democrat Party.
