Dem Candidate Knocked Out Cold on the Beach

A Democratic candidate for Congress in Hawaii is facing intense scrutiny after a chaotic confrontation at a Maui beach ended with him being knocked unconscious on camera and later arrested on multiple allegations involving threats and a knife.

The incident has quickly become one of the most talked-about political videos circulating online, raising new questions about the judgment of a candidate who has already accumulated a lengthy record of confrontations with law enforcement in recent months.

Kirill Basin, who is running in Hawaii’s 2nd Congressional District Democratic primary, was taken into custody following the altercation at Keawakapu Beach in South Kihei, according to reports citing the Maui Police Department.
