The CIA’s Epic Blunder
During Trump’s first term, the CIA was a stronghold of anti-Trump resistance. The agency played a key role in the Ukraine impeachment scandal, as one of its analysts—believed to be Eric Ciaramella—worked with Adam Schiff to spark the impeachment effort. Now, thanks to Trump’s push to cut the bureaucracy, the CIA has found itself making a humiliating error.
As part of the downsizing efforts, the Trump administration demanded a list of all new hires from the past two years. The CIA complied—but in the worst way possible. Instead of securely transmitting the information, officials sent it through an unsecured email, revealing the first names and last initials of new probationary employees.
“The list included first names and the first initial of the last name of the new hires, who are still on probation — and thus easy to dismiss. It included a large crop of young analysts and operatives who were hired specifically to focus on China, and whose identities are usually closely guarded because Chinese hackers are constantly seeking to identify them,” The New York Times reported.
This reckless mistake has now put national security at risk. Chinese hackers are constantly working to expose U.S. intelligence personnel, and the CIA just made their job significantly easier. If the agency can’t even protect its own secrets, how can it be trusted with safeguarding national security?
Trump’s Strategy Forces the CIA to Retreat
Realizing the disaster unfolding, the CIA became the first intelligence agency to comply with Trump’s demand for voluntary buyouts. Officials scrambled to offer employees a way out, hoping to trim down the agency before further damage could be done.
“The CIA appeared to be the first intelligence agency to tell its employees that they can quit their jobs and receive about eight months of pay and benefits as part of Trump’s push to downsize the federal government. The offer last month made to most civilian federal agencies exempted some categories of federal workers, including those with national security roles,” The Wall Street Journal reported.
But that wasn’t the only move. The administration also put a freeze on all pending job offers. Any new hire now faces additional scrutiny to ensure they are aligned with the administration’s goals.
“The agency is also freezing the hiring of job seekers already given a conditional offer, an aide to CIA Director John Ratcliffe said. Some are likely to be rescinded if the applicants don’t have the right background for the agency’s new goals, which also include Trump’s trade war and undermining China, the aide said,” the Journal added.

Trump’s Mission to Drain the Swamp Gains Momentum
For years, Trump has warned that the Deep State is working against the will of the American people. This latest CIA blunder only proves his point. The incompetence within the intelligence community is now on full display, and Trump’s strategy to cut the bureaucracy is already paying off.
As the Trump administration continues its battle against the Deep State, this latest scandal is more proof that Washington’s entrenched power structure is broken. With a second term on the horizon, Trump is preparing for a full-scale war against the forces that have tried to undermine him at every turn.
The Deep State just made a massive mistake, and Trump’s mission to reclaim Washington for the American people has never been more necessary.
