“HRC [Hillary Clinton] approved [campaign adviser] Julie’s idea about Trump and Russian hackers hampering US elections. That should distract people from her own missing emails, especially if the affair goes to the Olympic level. The point is making the Russian play a US domestic issue.”
This wasn’t an isolated message either. On July 25, just two days prior, Benardo confirmed that the FBI was actively participating in the Clinton campaign’s plan to demonize both Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump:
“Julie [Hillary campaign advisor] says it will be a long-term affair to demonize Putin and Trump. Now it is good for a post-convention bounce. Later the FBI will put more oil into the fire.”
