In what many are calling a bizarre moment of political praise, embattled Democratic figure David Hogg took to the airwaves to shower Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) with applause, labeling her the kind of leader the party should be championing. Appearing on “The Breakfast Club” podcast, Hogg doubled down on his support for one of the most polarizing and outspoken members of the House, despite growing dissent within his own ranks.
Hogg, whose title as Democratic National Committee (DNC) Vice Chair is currently under threat, is facing mounting criticism from within the party for his brash, activist-driven approach to leadership. And yet, he chose to champion a fellow firebrand known more for viral soundbites and headline-chasing antics than for legislative accomplishments.
“I think Jasmine is, frankly, the type of leader that we’re really looking to support in some senses, right? Somebody who is out there that, frankly, doesn’t give a damn what the other side — at least the elected Republicans in Congress say,” Hogg said, touting Crockett’s bombastic persona as a political asset.
