According to the agency, the U.S. Capitol Police and other law enforcement organizations conducted a training exercise in the Capitol grounds on Sunday around daybreak.
“Sunday, November 19 – starting at 4:00 a.m., we will be conducting a training exercise with our military partners on Capitol Grounds. Please do not be alarmed if you see emergency vehicles,” said in a post by the US Capitol Police.

The United States Capitol Police have not released any more information since their original notification on Saturday.

“This is a training exercise,” a man stated prior to a police officer asking him a few quick questions.
Far-left protestors have recently surged, overwhelming Capitol Police.

Representative Pete Aguilar, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, and House Minority Whip Katherine Clark were among the prominent House Democrats enmeshed in a disorderly and violent altercation between protestors and police. They had to be quickly removed from the area as a result.
One suspect was taken into custody for allegedly hitting a female officer, and six police officers were injured in the altercation outside the premises. Officers wanted “to keep back approximately 150 people who are illegally and violently protesting” in the region, the US Capitol Police report.

The USCP defended its actions in a statement released on Thursday, stating that the protestors were “not peaceful,” that they pepper-sprayed police officers, and that they put dumpsters in front of exits.
“We have handled hundreds of peaceful protests, but last night’s group was not peaceful,” the statement said.
