He specifically targeted Jack Smith, labeling him “deranged” and a “criminal.” His comments came after Smith’s team disclosed to Judge Aileen Cannon, who is presiding over the case, that certain evidence was not maintained in its original state.

The issue at hand stems from Smith’s office’s admission that the arrangement of items within some evidence boxes had been altered from their original order, as recorded in earlier digital scans. These boxes had been collected from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort during an FBI raid in August 2022.
