After days of intense backlash and public scrutiny, CNN appears to be reversing course on its reporting of President Trump’s bold military action against Iran. The network, notorious for pushing anti-Trump narratives, is now walking back earlier claims that downplayed the success of the U.S. bombing campaign targeting Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.
Earlier this week, CNN had leaned heavily on a U.S. intelligence leak suggesting that the operation barely scratched the surface of Iran’s nuclear program. But now, the tone has shifted — dramatically.
In a stunning on-air admission, CNN global affairs analyst and former diplomat Brett McGurk acknowledged that Trump’s strike hit its mark with precision.
“These massive [bombs], with significant computer software engineering, went directly down to those three ventilated shafts specifically as designed,” McGurk said on-air.
“It worked. It seems it worked flawlessly.”
