Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is once again entertaining the possibility of running for president — and his latest comments suggest the results of the 2026 midterms could play a major role in whether he gives the White House another shot.
Christie, who unsuccessfully sought the Republican nomination in both 2016 and 2024, returned to New Hampshire this week and acknowledged that the presidential itch has not disappeared.
“Am I looking at it? Look, anybody who comes up here – anybody who comes up here – and has ever run for president and not won and told you they’re not looking at it again is lying,” Christie said during an appearance at Southern New Hampshire University.
