America’s lights are still on—but barely—and one top official is warning the nation is skating dangerously close to a blackout nightmare after years of misguided energy policies under President Joe Biden.
In a sobering interview on Fox Business’s Mornings with Maria, Energy Secretary Chris Wright pulled back the curtain on how fragile the country’s power grid has become. Wright didn’t hold back, placing the blame squarely on the prior administration for leaving behind what he described as a looming catastrophe.
“The nation’s power infrastructure is ‘reaching its limit,’” Wright warned viewers, revealing the Trump team has been scrambling nonstop to avoid widespread outages.
“In my department, we’ve issued four emergency orders just in the last few weeks to stop the closure of reliable plants, so we can keep the lights on and stop pushing up electricity prices,” Wright told Fox Business.
