China Didn’t Want These Photos Getting Out

Fresh satellite imagery is raising new alarms among national security observers after what appears to be an incredibly detailed replica of a U.S. Navy destroyer was identified at a Chinese military testing facility deep inside the country’s western desert.

The discovery has fueled renewed concerns that Beijing is not only expanding its military power at a rapid pace but is also refining the technology needed to target some of America’s most valuable naval assets should tensions erupt in the Indo-Pacific.

According to newly released satellite images, China has constructed what analysts believe is a near full-size copy of an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer at a military range in the Taklamakan Desert in Xinjiang.
