In a stunning move just days before Juneteenth, far-left Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson signed off on an executive order that prioritizes race over merit, launching what he calls a “Black Reparations Agenda.” Under Executive Order 2024-1, the city will now funnel taxpayer dollars into programs that benefit only Black residents—all in the name of so-called “reparative justice.”
Mayor Johnson’s latest action creates a sweeping “Reparations Task Force” charged with crafting a plan to address alleged historical wrongs tied to slavery and Jim Crow—despite the fact that neither of those systems ever existed in Illinois. Yet, Johnson insists this new initiative is a moral obligation.
“Today’s Executive Order is not just a public declaration; it is a pledge to shape the future of our city by confronting the legacy of inequity that has plagued Chicago for far too long,” said Johnson.
He claims the program is about reconciliation. But critics say it’s little more than a racially discriminatory cash grab, using guilt and identity politics to justify funneling resources to one racial group at the expense of everyone else.
