Virginia Democrats thought they had found their dream candidate in Abigail Spanberger — a polished politician who loves to remind voters of her CIA past and her so-called expertise in national security.
But now, her campaign has been hit with a political bombshell: Spanberger was caught accepting $50,000 from a businessman tied directly to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The revelation not only raises serious ethical questions but also puts her campaign narrative in serious jeopardy.
Newly uncovered campaign finance records show Spanberger took two separate $25,000 contributions in April and May from Pin Ni, the president of Wanxiang America. Ni’s company is a U.S. arm of the Wanxiang Group — a Chinese conglomerate with undeniable, documented ties to the CCP.
Those ties aren’t just whispers. In 2021, Wanxiang Group publicly honored its late founder, Lu Guanqiu — Pin Ni’s father-in-law — with the title of “National Outstanding Communist Party Member.”
