The termination comes in the wake of growing friction between Pelley and CBS leadership, as the network continues to navigate sweeping corporate changes tied to new ownership and leadership restructuring. According to multiple reports, the situation reached a breaking point after Pelley publicly challenged top executives during a recent 60 Minutes staff meeting held at the program’s Manhattan headquarters.
That meeting was originally convened to introduce Nick Bilton, the newly appointed executive producer brought in amid broader organizational changes.
