California Election Scandal Erupts After GOP Warning

Bianco did not hold back. He slammed the measure as a bare knuckle power play that Democrats disguised as reform. He warned that Californians are being sold a fantasy about “independent” redistricting while Democrats lock in even more control.

The sheriff pointed to the state’s previous maps which were supposedly crafted by an independent commission. Even with that setup, Republicans only controlled 17 percent of congressional districts despite former President Trump earning 40 percent of the statewide vote in the last election. Under the new Texas maps, which Newsom claimed Proposition 50 was a reaction to, Democrats hold 21 percent of seats after earning 42 percent of the vote. Yet California Democrats want voters to believe they are the victims of gerrymandering rather than the architects of it.

Bianco’s warning kept building.

“The gerrymandering, districting, really, for me, being at the head of law enforcement, the leader of law enforcement, the Constitution and the constitutional rights of Californians actually matter. And our current government, they despise both the state constitution and the federal constitution,” Bianco told Fox News.

He added that the tactics used to sell Proposition 50 were not just misleading but outright deceptive.

“So this gerrymandering of this election to keep them in power, it made no sense. We know that there was a lot of dishonesty in the advertising. I think it’s going to backfire on what they did here because it’s one more nail in the coffin of we’re tired of being lied to.”

The sheriff repeated his charge in the interview for emphasis, a sign that this message is becoming the centerpiece of his campaign. And it is resonating.

Even in deep blue California, frustration is boiling over. Voters are fed up with sky high costs, chronic homelessness, collapsing cities, unchecked crime and a political class that keeps tightening its grip on power while life gets harder for everyone else. For the first time in years, the governor’s race is not a cakewalk for Democrats.

A new UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies poll revealed that Democratic frontrunner Rep. Katie Porter is slipping after a string of embarrassing tantrums and reports of abusive behavior toward her staff. Porter was once the unstoppable figure in the race. Not anymore. The poll shows her trailing Sheriff Bianco, a development that sent shockwaves across the state’s Democratic strategists.

Poll director Mark DiCamillo explained the surprising landscape by pointing out that Porter is leading her side only because no other Democrat has managed to inspire enthusiasm.

“She’s the leading Democrat among the various ones that are in there right now,” DiCamillo said. “But it’s because nobody really on the Democratic side has really jumped out of the pack. It’s kind of a political vacuum at the moment.”

A vacuum is dangerous for Democrats. And Bianco is stepping in to fill it with a message millions of Californians have been waiting to hear.
