A bombshell new study has thrown a massive wrench into the climate hysteria machine long championed by Democrats and corporate media. After decades of doomsday predictions about melting ice caps and rising seas, it turns out Antarctica—the crown jewel of global warming alarmism—isn’t behaving the way climate crusaders wanted.
From 2021 to 2023, Antarctica’s icy mass actually grew. Not by a little. But by a historic amount.
According to a peer-reviewed study published in Science China Earth Sciences, researchers at Shanghai’s Tongji University revealed that East Antarctica gained an average of 108 gigatons of ice per year over that two-year span—a complete reversal from the 142 gigatons of ice it was losing annually between 2011 and 2020.

Let that sink in: A part of the world that climate activists claimed was vanishing due to carbon emissions just experienced the most significant growth spurt on record.
So what caused the surge in ice? Snow. Lots of it.
The scientists attributed the ice expansion to “anomalous increases in precipitation” over four major glacier basins in East Antarctica. Their analysis, conducted via satellite gravimetry data from NASA’s GRACE and GRACE-FO missions, pinpointed the Wilkes Land and Queen Mary Land regions—including the Totten, Denman, Moscow University, and Vincennes Bay glaciers—as the main contributors to the ice mass comeback.
