BREAKING: Shooter Found!

The man accused of carrying out the deadly shooting at Brown University has been found dead, bringing a grim end to a six-day manhunt that left the Ivy League campus shaken and the nation demanding answers.

Brown University shooter Claudio Neves-Valente

Law enforcement officials confirmed Thursday evening that the suspected shooter was discovered inside a storage unit in Salem, New Hampshire, where he died from what investigators described as a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Authorities identified the suspect as 48-year-old Claudio Neves-Valente, a student at Brown University and a Portuguese national. Police say Neves-Valente opened fire on campus last week, killing two students and critically injuring nine others before fleeing the scene.

The discovery of the suspect’s body comes nearly a week after the shooting, during which federal, state, and local agencies launched a massive search effort across multiple states. Investigators had been tracking the suspect’s movements after locating an abandoned vehicle believed to be connected to the attack.
