While Gorsuch refrained from diving into the political fray, he did issue a two-word piece of advice: “Be careful.”
This warning comes in response to President Biden’s ambitious proposal unveiled last month, which seeks to reform the highest court in the land. The plan outlines three major components: setting term limits for justices, introducing a constitutional amendment to counteract the Court’s decision on presidential immunity, and establishing a stringent ethics code for the justices. Presently, Supreme Court justices, like other federal judges, are appointed for life, a tradition that Biden and his administration aim to change.
