“Through all that work last night, we were able to make a few breakthroughs. We were able to track the movements of the shooter,” Mason revealed.
He laid out the timeline in chilling detail.
“Starting at 11:52 AM, the subject arrived on campus, shortly away from campus. We have tracked his movements onto the campus, through the stairwells, up to the roof, across the roof to a shooting location,” Mason said.
From there, the suspect carried out the assassination before making his daring escape.
“After the shooting, we were able to track his movements as he moved to the other side of the building, jumped off of the building and fled off of the campus and into a neighborhood. Our investigators have worked through those neighborhoods, contacting anybody they can with doorbell cameras, witnesses, and have thoroughly worked through those communities, trying to identify any leads,” Mason explained.
Investigators have gathered what they describe as high-quality footage of the suspect. But for now, they are holding it back from the public.
“We do have good video footage of this individual. We are not going to release that at this time. We are working through some technologies and some ways to identify this individual. If we are unsuccessful, we will reach out to you as the media and we will push that publicly to help us identify them,” Mason said, adding, “But we are confident in our abilities right now, and we would like to move forward in a manner that keeps everyone safe and moves this process appropriately.”
FBI official Robert Bohls confirmed the existence of the footage — and shared another shocking detail.
Not only do investigators have images of the suspect, but they also discovered the murder weapon abandoned in the woods.
Bohls revealed, “They have GOOD FOOTAGE of the killer. They also found his rifle in the woods!”
Meanwhile, Fox News reporter Bill Melugin noted the suspect appears to be college-aged — raising fears the gunman could be hiding in plain sight.
As of now, authorities are urging locals to remain alert and report anything unusual. The investigation continues, with officials promising to release more information as soon as it’s safe to do so.
