BREAKING: Fani Willis Strikes Trump Again!

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

However, in September, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee dropped two of the charges against Trump, arguing that they fell outside Willis’s jurisdiction. Judge McAfee ruled that the charges, which involved conspiracy and filing false documents, pertained to federal matters, not local crimes that Willis could prosecute. This decision followed an earlier ruling in March, when McAfee dismissed three other charges tied to Trump’s alleged solicitation of officials to breach their oaths of office.

With a total of five out of the 13 charges now dropped, the legal battle over the remaining charges has intensified. Judge McAfee’s ruling on the dropped charges included two directly related to Trump’s infamous January 2, 2021 phone call with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, during which Trump allegedly urged Raffensperger to “find” enough votes to overturn the election results.

Now, Willis is asking the appeals court to restore six charges, including three against Trump, that were previously tossed out. Willis’s office has also requested an oral argument to present their case for reinstating the charges.

In their appeal, Willis’s prosecutors argue that Judge McAfee made a critical error by dismissing the six charges. They contend that the judge wrongfully quashed the counts related to the solicitation of a violation of an oath by a public officer. According to the prosecutors, “The trial court erred by quashing six counts of the indictment in this case, each of which alleged the crime of Solicitation of Violation of Oath by Public Officer.”

They further argue that Judge McAfee’s ruling required them to present specific details about the targeted crime, which they claim was not necessary for a charge of solicitation. “The trial court erred by requiring the State to plead with specific details as to the target crime of violation of oath by public officer, which is not required for a charge of solicitation of violation of oath by public officer,” they added.

As this legal drama unfolds, Trump’s legal team is also preparing for a crucial hearing on December 5, 2024, where they will argue for the disqualification of Fani Willis from the case. Originally scheduled for October, the hearing was pushed back, meaning that any significant developments in the RICO case will likely be delayed until after the 2024 presidential election.

This postponement further pushes the timeline of Trump’s legal battles, giving him more time to focus on his campaign without the immediate weight of the case hanging over his head. It also fuels speculation that Willis’s legal actions may be strategically timed to interfere with Trump’s political ambitions.

Fani Willis’s push to reinstate charges against Trump adds another layer to the former president’s already complex legal challenges. As Georgia voters turn out in droves for the upcoming election, Willis’s actions raise the stakes even higher, highlighting the intertwined nature of law and politics in this ongoing saga.

With early voting numbers soaring, and legal battles looming, all eyes are on Georgia. Willis’s appeal marks yet another chapter in the never-ending conflict between Trump and those who seek to hold him accountable for his actions surrounding the 2020 election. Whether or not these charges are reinstated, one thing is clear: the fight is far from over.
