In a stunning rebuke of law enforcement, a Massachusetts judge has held a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent in contempt for arresting an illegal immigrant outside a Boston courthouse—effectively penalizing an officer for doing his job.
The incident unfolded on March 27, 2025, when ICE agent Brian Sullivan took action against Wilson Martell-Lebron, a Dominican national who was in the country illegally and using a fraudulent identity. Martell-Lebron was on trial for providing false information on a driver’s license application, yet somehow had managed to remain free under Boston’s lenient policies. But Sullivan and his team made sure that changed.
