Border Patrol Chief Stripped of Social Media Access!?

“One of the sources said Bovino was relieved of his command in Minneapolis and is expected to return to California’s El Centro sector, where he served as the chief agent before the Trump administration deployed him to major American cities, including Los Angeles and Chicago,” CBS reported.

Complicating matters further, Bovino’s access to his social media accounts has reportedly been suspended, fueling speculation about whether internal disputes or outside pressure influenced the decision to pull him from the state.

The White House moved quickly to address the situation. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed Monday that Bovino would be leaving Minnesota, but emphasized that his role within Customs and Border Protection remains intact.

“Mr. Bovino is a wonderful man, and he’s a great professional. He is going to very much continue to lead Customs and Border Patrol throughout and across the country. Mr. Homan will be the main point of contact on the ground in Minneapolis,” Leavitt told reporters.

That reference was to Border Czar Tom Homan, who is now taking a more direct role in Minnesota following a call between President Donald Trump and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

Earlier Monday, Trump publicly revealed that Walz had reached out to him to coordinate with federal authorities. The president described the call as productive and suggested that state and federal officials were finally aligned on addressing criminal activity.

“Governor Tim Walz called me with the request to work together with respect to Minnesota. It was a very good call, and we, actually, seemed to be on a similar wavelength,” Trump said.

Trump added that he instructed Homan to take the lead in follow up discussions with the governor.

“I told Governor Walz that I would have Tom Homan call him, and that what we are looking for are any and all Criminals that they have in their possession. The Governor, very respectfully, understood that, and I will be speaking to him in the near future,” Trump said.

The president framed the move as part of a broader enforcement strategy that has already delivered measurable results in other cities.

“He was happy that Tom Homan was going to Minnesota, and so am I! We have had such tremendous SUCCESS in Washington, D.C., Memphis, Tennessee, and New Orleans, Louisiana, and virtually every other place that we have “touched” and, even in Minnesota, Crime is way down, but both Governor Walz and I want to make it better! PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP” Trump said.

Supporters of strong border enforcement view Bovino’s departure as a strategic redeployment rather than a retreat. Critics, however, argue that the timing raises serious concerns about political interference and messaging control, especially given the suspension of Bovino’s social media access.

What is clear is that federal immigration enforcement in Minnesota is entering a new phase. With Homan now positioned as the primary point of contact and Bovino heading back to California, the Biden era resistance to federal operations appears to be giving way to a more coordinated approach under renewed Trump leadership.

As events continue to unfold, all eyes remain on Minneapolis to see whether this leadership shift leads to calmer streets or further escalation in the ongoing national immigration battle.
