BANNED GUNS… Now Look What’s Happening in Australia

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

Premier Jacinta Allan wasted no time capitalizing on public fear. “I will introduce as many laws (as needed) to get these dangerous knives off the streets,” she declared.

So, what’s the penalty for owning a machete in Victoria now? Two years in prison and a $30,000 fine.

The government isn’t stopping with machetes, either.

It’s Never Just “One More Ban”

Second Amendment advocate Colion Noir nailed it in his response:
“This isn’t about knives. It’s about control.”

Australia banned guns. Violence continued. Now knives are on the chopping block. What’s next? Everyday kitchen tools?

Victorian officials have hinted the ban could extend to smaller blades. Nicole Rich, director at Consumer Affairs, warned: “I would suggest it’s probably a machete and you shouldn’t be selling it.” That vague bureaucratic language all but guarantees the government’s control will only expand.

One legal expert put it bluntly: law-abiding people are being punished while criminals carry on, undeterred.

Criminals Don’t Obey Bans

The gang members arrested after the machete attack were known criminals. The laws didn’t stop them—and harsher penalties won’t either.

Astor Legal’s Avinash Singh told NewsWire he sees knife-related charges “on a weekly basis,” often involving teens from poor communities carrying blades for self-defense.

Singh dropped a hard truth:
“People who carry knives are unlikely to stop just because of increased penalties.”

He also warned that similar knife laws in New South Wales have backfired, resulting in “a noticeable increase in the courts seeing knife offenses.”

Children are now being denied bail and tossed into custody at higher rates. And for what? Defending themselves in neighborhoods plagued by gang violence?

This is not justice. This is government overreach.

The Real Agenda: Disarming the Innocent

While criminals continue business as usual, everyday Australians—farmers, landscapers, homeowners—are the ones feeling the sting of these new laws.

And this is exactly what American gun rights advocates have warned about for decades: once the government starts banning weapons, there’s no stopping the descent into tyranny.

Australia’s growing list of “prohibited weapons” now includes tasers, pepper spray, gel blasters, laser pointers, even slingshots. Yes, slingshots.

It’s the playbook Democrat politicians in the U.S. have been praising for years—and they’re not even hiding it.

A Warning America Must Heed

The government doesn’t stop at “just one” restriction. First it was guns. Now it’s machetes. Next could be steak knives, scissors, or whatever else some bureaucrat decides you shouldn’t own.

Thomas Jefferson saw this coming. He famously cited Italian philosopher Cesare Beccaria, noting that laws disarming citizens “disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.”

Jefferson wrote that such laws “make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants.”

That’s exactly what’s happening in Australia—and it’s precisely what could happen here if Americans aren’t vigilant.

The lesson is clear: disarming the innocent doesn’t make society safer. It just makes citizens more vulnerable—and governments more powerful.

Pay attention, America. What’s happening Down Under isn’t just a foreign policy headline—it’s your future if gun control fanatics get their way.
