Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has built her image on being the voice of the working class. But when her own district is drowning in crime, she’s nowhere to be found.
Community leaders in Queens are so fed up that they’ve bypassed AOC entirely. Instead, they’re writing directly to FBI Director Kash Patel, begging federal authorities to clean up the streets their congresswoman has ignored.
Residents Plead for Federal Action
The Restore Roosevelt Avenue Coalition sent a formal request to the FBI demanding help. They argue that violent gangs are running prostitution and drug operations in broad daylight across Roosevelt Avenue — a strip many now call a red-light district.
Police have already made hundreds of arrests this year, but residents say the problem is only getting worse. The coalition even pinpointed eight buildings they believe house illegal brothels, seven of which are inside AOC’s district. They also flagged five street corners where prostitutes reportedly operate around the clock.
