Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez ignited a fresh political firestorm this week after taking aim at FBI Director Kash Patel in a media appearance that quickly circulated across partisan lines.

During an interview with the activist outlet MeidasTouch, Ocasio-Cortez did not hold back. She described Patel as “a person who’s easily manipulated,” raising eyebrows even among seasoned political observers. But she went further, claiming that alleged personal behavior could pose a serious national security concern. According to her, such vulnerabilities could open the door to “blackmail and kompromat.”

It followed a report published by The Atlantic alleging troubling behavior by Patel, citing more than two dozen unnamed sources said to include current and former officials. The article painted a picture of dysfunction, claiming instances of public intoxication, difficulty waking him for official duties, and an internal incident involving access to secure systems.
