The ideological tension inside the U.S. Supreme Court just hit a boiling point—and Justice Amy Coney Barrett isn’t holding back.
In a sharply worded majority opinion that lit up legal circles and stunned court-watchers, Barrett took direct aim at Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson’s dissent in a recent ruling, calling it not only constitutionally unsound but downright theatrical.
While Jackson’s dissent attempted to push a far-left legal interpretation, Barrett shredded it as unserious and incompatible with foundational American legal traditions. In her opinion, Barrett wrote:
“We will not dwell on Justice Jackson’s argument, which is at odds with more than two centuries’ worth of precedent, not to mention the Constitution itself. We observe only this: Justice Jackson decries an imperial executive while embracing an imperial judiciary.”
