In a rare and fiery rebuke, Attorney General Pam Bondi has dropped the hammer on a Department of Justice attorney who failed to forcefully defend the government’s position in a highly controversial deportation case involving an MS-13 gang member.
The DOJ’s Erez Reuveni, the attorney who represented the government in a recent court hearing, has now been placed on indefinite paid leave after failing to aggressively oppose a judge’s decision that could bring a dangerous criminal back into the U.S.

“At my direction, every Department of Justice attorney is required to zealously advocate on behalf of the United States,” Bondi said in a statement to The New York Times. “Any attorney who fails to abide by this direction will face consequences.”
