According to two sources who spoke to NBC, Dennehy was given an ultimatum: resign or be fired. He chose to walk away.
This comes after a stunning announcement by Attorney General Pam Bondi, who confirmed that the FBI had been withholding crucial Epstein files. Bondi demanded that the agency release the complete set of documents by Friday, February 28, and launched an immediate investigation into why the files were hidden from the public.
Last week’s much-anticipated release of “The Epstein Files: Phase One” left many Americans deeply frustrated. The 120-page dump, handed to select MAGA influencers, turned out to be a heavily redacted disappointment—mostly regurgitated information already known.
Meanwhile, Dennehy had already been in hot water over another controversy. NBC News noted that he previously sent an internal email reacting to a request from the Trump Justice Department for a list of FBI employees involved in prosecuting hundreds of Trump supporters from January 6. The request was met with defiance.
As reported by The Gateway Pundit, then-acting FBI Director Brian Driscoll refused to disclose the names of officials tied to investigations into both Trump and J6 protesters.
“Today, we find ourselves in the middle of a battle of our own as good people are being walked out of the FBI,” Dennehy wrote in an email to staff. “And others are being targeted because they did their jobs in accordance with the law and FBI policy.”
Just Released: Trump White House Collector’s Bobblehead!
“Time for me to dig in,” he added.
The question remains: Was Dennehy’s forced departure directly tied to the Epstein files cover-up? A statement later confirmed that a key FBI official involved in withholding these documents “will not be working for us anymore.”
With Dennehy gone, the American people demand full transparency. The Epstein files must be unsealed in their entirety—no more redactions, no more excuses.
