Ontario Premier Threatens U.S. Power Cutoff!

Ford erupted in frustration, declaring:

“We are the largest purchaser of alcohol in the world. We buy over 3,600 products from 35 states. I talked to the Governor of Kentucky and Mitch McConnell. Don’t touch our bourbon. I’m going after absolutely everything.”

Ford made it clear that he sees Canada as an indispensable economic partner to the U.S., particularly for states heavily reliant on Canadian trade.

“We keep the lights on for 1.5 million homes in manufacturing in New York, in Michigan, and in Minnesota,” he warned.

Then came his most shocking statement:

“If he wants to destroy our economy and our families, I will shut down the electricity going down to the U.S. And I’m telling you, we will do it.”

This threat, if carried out, would be a drastic escalation, potentially leaving millions of American homes and industries without power.

Ford didn’t stop there. He continued his tirade, insisting that Trump’s tariffs would bring severe consequences to Americans, particularly those in Republican-led states.

“This is the last thing we want to do. It’s one person that’s coming to attack us economically. Your closest friend, your treasured ally, that will stand shoulder to shoulder with you in every situation you’ve faced, and he’s attacking the person, his number one customer.”

Ford claimed that Canada is the top trade partner for 28 U.S. states, many of them Republican strongholds, and warned they would “feel the pain like they’ve never felt before.”

But despite his aggressive rhetoric, Ford insisted that Canadians would not back down:

“We’re going to feel the pain, but I’ll tell you, Canadians are resilient, we’re strong, we’re proud, and we’re going to fight back like they’ve never seen before.”

Watch the clip below:

This isn’t the first time Ford has clashed with Trump. Back in January, Trump dismissed Canada as “the 51st state,” prompting Ford to fire back with a bizarre counteroffer.

“You know something, to the president I’ll make him a counteroffer,” Ford said. “How about if we buy Alaska and throw in Minnesota and Minneapolis at the same time?”

Ford’s increasingly aggressive stance is sure to fuel tensions between Canada and a potential second Trump administration. As Trump continues to push his America First economic policies, Canada’s leadership seems intent on ramping up the pressure. Whether Ford’s threats are mere political theater or a sign of serious economic warfare remains to be seen.
