Jesse Watters Confronts Vivek: “Why Turn on Trump?”

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

While Ramaswamy frames his resignation as a strategic move toward his gubernatorial bid, tensions with Musk and the MAGA base have fueled alternative theories about his abrupt departure.

Controversial Comments Stir Backlash

Ramaswamy found himself in hot water over a controversial post on X (formerly Twitter), where he criticized American culture for embracing mediocrity over excellence. The post also suggested that major tech firms preferred foreign-born workers over native-born Americans due to differences in work ethic.

“The reason top tech companies often hire foreign-born & first-generation engineers over ‘native’ Americans isn’t because of an innate American IQ deficit (a lazy & wrong explanation). A key part of it comes down to the c-word: culture,” Ramaswamy wrote. “Our American culture has venerated mediocrity over excellence for way too long (at least since the 90s and likely longer). That doesn’t start in college, it starts YOUNG.”

Many in the MAGA movement took issue with the remarks, interpreting them as an insult to hardworking American citizens. Reports emerged that Musk was unhappy with Ramaswamy’s stance, particularly given his own efforts to champion American innovation. The timing of these tensions raised eyebrows, with some speculating that Musk had a hand in pushing Ramaswamy out of DOGE.

Watters Presses Ramaswamy for Answers

Fox News host Jesse Watters didn’t shy away from pressing Ramaswamy on whether his split from DOGE was truly voluntary—or if there was more to the story.

“Well, the reality is I’m pursuing elected office very shortly,” Ramaswamy responded. “We’ll have an announcement soon.”

Watters, not entirely convinced, probed further: “People are saying you didn’t get along with Musk. What happened there?”

Ramaswamy dismissed the idea of a personal conflict but acknowledged he and Musk had differing approaches to government reform. While Musk focused on utilizing technology and artificial intelligence to cut bureaucracy, Ramaswamy leaned toward a legislative and constitutional strategy.

“I think that’s incorrect,” Ramaswamy said in response to the notion of a feud. “But what I would say is, we had different and complementary approaches. I focused more on a constitutional law, legislative-based approach. He focused more on a technology approach, which is the future approach.”

Watters continued to push, asking outright whether Musk had fired him.

“No, we had a mutual discussion,” Ramaswamy clarified. “I wish him well and we’re on the same page, divide and conquer. It’s saving the country. It’s not a one-man show from top-down or the bottom-up. It’s all of the above. That’s what I’m in for.”

Ramaswamy Leads in Ohio Gubernatorial Race

Despite the controversy, Ramaswamy appears to be the early frontrunner for the Ohio Governor’s race. A recent poll conducted by Trump pollster Tony Fabrizio showed him leading the Republican field by a staggering 34 points over Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost.

Additionally, 65% of Ohio Republicans view him favorably—a strong indicator of his potential success in the primary. However, the big question remains: Will his split from Musk hurt his chances of securing Trump’s coveted endorsement?

The Trump Factor

Trump’s endorsement has proven to be a game-changer in GOP primaries, and Ramaswamy’s past loyalty to Trump may work in his favor. However, given Trump’s close relationship with Musk and the backlash from MAGA voters over Ramaswamy’s comments on American culture, nothing is guaranteed.

For now, Ramaswamy remains focused on his Ohio campaign. But the shadow of his departure from DOGE—and whether Trump will back him—looms large over his political future.
