In a stunning revelation, the Colorado GOP has dropped audio recordings implicating Secretary of State Jena Griswold’s office in a deliberate effort to conceal a massive election security breach. The leak, which involved critical voting machine passwords, has sparked widespread outrage, with calls for Griswold’s resignation growing louder.

According to an affidavit from the Colorado GOP, Griswold’s office unintentionally published approximately 600 BIOS passwords tied to election equipment in 63 of Colorado’s 64 counties. These passwords were reportedly available online for months—spanning from June, ahead of the state’s primary election, until October. Despite the gravity of this exposure, county clerks were left in the dark, discovering the breach only after the GOP brought it to light.

When questioned about the leak by Kyle Clark of 9News, Griswold dismissed concerns, describing the passwords as “partial” and claiming they were only one of two credentials needed to operate the systems. Critics have called this explanation inadequate, emphasizing that the exposed passwords were current and posed a real threat to election security—unlike the outdated credentials involved in previous cases, such as the incident with former Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters.
