In a surprising turn of events, E. Jean Carroll, who accused former President Donald Trump of assaulting her in the mid-90s, has had to revise a critical detail of her story. Carroll had initially claimed she wore a black Donna Karan jacket dress during the alleged incident, but it turns out that the dress wasn’t available at the time she said the attack occurred. This revelation has cast doubt on the validity of her accusations.
Carroll first made headlines with her 2019 New York Magazine article, where she described meeting Trump at the Bergdorf Goodman department store in New York City. She claimed the two were shopping for lingerie when Trump allegedly assaulted her in a dressing room. Carroll has said that after the attack, she kept the dress in her closet and didn’t wear it again until her magazine cover shoot.
