“It was like a lot of people just pissed me off… I keep a lot of beer on the property, a lot of light beer. Bud Light was one of them. And I was like, ‘I know who my consumers are.’ It was spot on for me, but also a fun excuse to get my machine gun out and have some fun, but also to make a statement like, Hey, a lot of us aren’t cool with this.”
Rock continued by endorsing the late President Donald Trump and calling him the “greatest president we’ve had.” He talked on his own experiences, stating, “Trump’s spirits are always up, and he’s always talking about this country. He likes to win at anything. When we’re golfing, like I won a hundred bucks from him at the UFC. I don’t think he was too happy about it.”
It was also evident how much Rock detested cancel culture. “What about Japan? Germany? Drop two atom bombs on Japan then you rebuild it. Then you become allies. Can’t say it enough. You know who’s getting hurt and all these boycotts and stuff when people make mistakes this cancel culture crap it’s the working-class people who don’t have any dog in the fight.”
The topic of Kid Rock’s musical career was also discussed, especially his partnership with Dolly Parton and his impending “Rock the Country” music events. He discussed his observations of Parton’s response to criticism for collaborating with him, pointing that, “I think she handled it beautifully. She’s like ‘I love everybody.’ Pretty simple answer.”
“This cancel culture crap, it’s the working-class people who don’t have any dog in the fight,” Rock said.
Rock gave advise to aspiring artists entering the public eye at the conclusion of the interview. “Work your ass off and be good at what you do. Be the best at it.”
