In Moab, tragedy struck when the four occupants of the plane perished in the accident. Among the casualties were Senator Doug Larsen, his wife Amy, and their two young children. David Hogue, the majority leader in the North Dakota Senate, sent an email with this terrible information.
The single-engine Piper aircraft, which met its terrible end immediately after taking off from Canyonlands Airfield, which is situated about 15 miles north of Moab, according to KFGO. The event was described in a statement posted on Facebook by the Grand County Sheriff’s Department.
The National Transportation Safety Board is in charge while the authorities continue to look into what caused the collision.
The Larsen family had recently visited family in Arizona, according to an email from Hogue, and were currently on their way back to their home state of Minnesota. They had stopped in Utah for a brief refueling.
