As Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) fervently defends Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) in the face of increasing expulsion rumors from fellow GOP members, Twitter erupts.
Greene’s tweets covered a variety of subjects, such as the Republican party’s internal politics and the policies of the Biden administration.
Greene started, “The Biden Administration [is] ceding our border control over to the Mexican cartels… killing over 300 Americans daily.” She also expressed her worries about the likelihood of a world war, stating, “killing Russians is going to lead us into WWIII.”
Greene was very outspoken when discussing the scandals involving GOP lawmakers. She said, “With regard to the motion to remove Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and the motion to remove Matt Gaetz, “All of this now has the House of Representatives on the verge of chaos.”
Greene warned, “A Republican-led effort to expel Matt Gaetz absolutely will not be tolerated by Republicans across the country… The American people are relying on Republicans… to care about their kids, bank accounts, jobs, and weekends.” She called on her colleagues to “stop the absurd drama” and to focus on “putting America first.”
Republicans are attempting to have Gaetz removed from office because to accusations of wrongdoing. Some of Gaetz’s coworkers are pushing for his dismissal as a result of his attempts to remove House Speaker McCarthy. Gaetz responds by pledging to move for McCarthy’s dismissal.
“No one can stand him [Gaetz] at this point. A smart guy without morals,” a legislator told Fox News. Given that the lower house now has 221 Republicans and 212 Democrats, a motion for expulsion needs the support of two-thirds of the members present in order to pass.
In a critical ethical probe that is almost over, Gaetz insists on his innocence. Serious claims, such as sexual impropriety, drug usage, and probable corruption, are the subject of the investigation. Gaetz is a challenge to McCarthy’s position as Speaker of the House because of his small margin of victory.
McCarthy retaliated against Gaetz for their Speaker dispute on Sunday. “Yes, I’ll survive”, McCarthy assured. “This is personal with Matt. Matt voted against the most conservative ability to protect our border, secure the border. He’s more interested in securing TV interviews than doing something.”

“He wanted to push us into a shutdown, even threatening his own district with all the military people there who would not be paid,” he added. “Only because he wants to take this motion.”
“So be it. Bring it on,” he added. “Let’s get over with it and let’s start governing. If he’s upset because he tried to push us in a shutdown and I made sure government didn’t shut down, then let’s have that fight.”
