Even though criminal charges were dropped following the tragic shooting death of cameraman Halyna Hutchins on site, Alec Baldwin’s legal problems persist. Although he has not been found guilty criminally, a civil lawsuit against him is still continuing.
The well-known lawyer Gloria Allred, who is defending the Hutchins family members, has hinted that Baldwin’s legal issues are still very much in play.

The loving widower of the cinematographer, Matt Hutchins, settled with Baldwin last year after filing a lawsuit.
According to Deadline, Matt Hutchins will play a significant part in the making of “Rust,” having just secured executive producer rights while the picture is now being filmed in Montana. Prior to the shooting disruptions of 2021, it was being shot in New Mexico.
Baldwin was charged with manslaughter, but the allegations against him were dropped without any mention of prospective follow-up charges by the prosecution.
The legal challenge brought by the Hutchins family will not go away any time soon, Allred warned on Friday. The incident, which was covered by the Irish Times, will have long-lasting effects.
“Despite the prosecutor’s decision to dismiss the criminal charge against Alec Baldwin without prejudice, the victims of Alec Baldwin that we represent remain hopeful,” the statement said.
“Mr Baldwin has tried to dismiss our civil case against him, and he has failed. (He) should know that we remain committed to fighting and winning for our clients and holding him accountable for pointing a loaded gun at Halyna Hutchins, pulling the trigger, and killing her,” the statement said.
The statement said, “Baldwin may pretend that he is not responsible for pulling the trigger and ejecting a live bullet which ended Halyna’s life.”
“He can run to Montana and pretend that he is just an actor in a wild west movie but, in real life, he cannot escape from the fact that he had a major role in a tragedy which had real life consequences for Halyna, her mother, father, sister, and co-worker,” the statement said.
“No matter where Alec Baldwin goes … he cannot escape responsibility for his role in shooting and killing Halyna, who was a young mother, a beloved daughter, a loving sister, and an admired co-worker,” the statement said.
Families of Halyna Hutchins are requesting a jury trial in order to evaluate if Alec Baldwin should be granted celebrity immunity or held accountable as an accused in a legal proceeding.
Baldwin’s legal representatives adamantly stated that the complaint is without merit and that they anticipate it being dismissed in due course.
In the lawsuit filed by Hutchins’ heirs, Alec Baldwin was charged with handling the firearm improperly and without first making sure it was empty.
As Judge Baldwin made excuses for failing to thoroughly check the weapon before using it to kill someone, his trustworthiness was called into doubt.
For significant violations like battery and emotional anguish, damages are sought in the lawsuit. Even the negative consequences on close bonds, such consortium loss, are covered.
Despite the fact that Baldwin’s charges were dropped, according to Variety, this tragic incident is still receiving judicial attention. Involuntary manslaughter charges have been brought against Hannah Gutierrez Reed, the movie’s armorer; her future is uncertain.
