One of the most wanted figures connected to the massive Feeding Our Future fraud scandal is finally back in the United States after spending years overseas, and newly highlighted court records are once again drawing attention to references involving Rep. Ilhan Omar.
Federal authorities allege that Abdikerm Eidleh played a major role in what prosecutors describe as one of the largest pandemic-era fraud schemes ever uncovered in America. The case centers on approximately $250 million in federal child nutrition funds that investigators say were diverted through fraudulent claims rather than being used to feed children.
For years, Eidleh remained outside the reach of U.S. law enforcement after leaving the country in 2022. According to federal authorities, he departed shortly after a series of FBI raids targeted numerous properties linked to the Feeding Our Future investigation in Minnesota.
